My Experiences with Birgitt have been none other than
inspiring. I met Birgitt when she was giving clinics throughout Australia
a few years ago. Her professionalism and no nonsense approach to
training horses was so refreshing.
She was the first
instructor, who I put all my faith in and just did what I was told.
Birgitt had a way of guiding me through a lesson without me having to
question why or how. I only had 2 lessons that year from her but the
memory stayed with me always. I also had the chance to watch Birgitt
handle a very difficult student with so much poise and class. As
a coach myself, I made a mental note to remind myself to try
to handle such difficult situations similarly. Birgitt was a true role
model and ambassador for the sport of dressage.
Birgitt is
also very kind. I rang her over a year later and asked if I could come to
train with her in The Netherlands. She remembered me and graciously
invited me to stay with her. Birgitt gave so generously of her time
and allowed me to ride all her horses in training at the time. It was
special to me because in Australia you never get to feel and try out how
to ride on well trained horses.
